Factors Influencing Demand | Soaring Demand for Devices to Help Save Energy
28th October 2022
Rising energy bills are prompting consumers to buy products which they hope will reduce energy consumption.
The Guardian reports here on a surge in demand for products such as air fryers, slippers and electric blankets.
Expect to see plenty of these wrapped up under the Xmas tree - assuming that you haven't already bought them and they are still available.
Retailers will be doing all they can to obtain supplies of such consumer products, though shortages and, therefore, price rises seem inevitable.
Of course consumers need to factor in the cost of buying these energy-saving products in the first place.
With premium-priced air fryers coming in at around £200 each, that's a lot of energy that needs to be saved to recoup the purchase cost.
I wonder what the payback period might be for an air fryer?
The better option might just be to order make takeaway food? Healthy takeaways, of course.
