Evaluation Play Your Cards Right

Want an easy activity to help develop evaluation skills?

Want to make it fun, engaging, lively and interactive?

Then, this could be for you…and best of all…its simples….

On a piece of A4 paper, draw 3 boxes of equal size…in one box put True, in the other box put False, and in the other one put Depends..

Cut them out and have enough cards per pupil so that each pupil has 3 cards. True, False, Depends.

As a starter or plenary, shout out questions and the students need to raise the right card. This is where the evaluation comes in.

For A2 for example, you could ask, is 0.4 a poor acid test ratio?

Most certainly most students will hold up True.

However, it depends. If the business is a cash generating business then it can cope with much lower levels of liquidity. What if the acid tst last year was 0.2. Then its liquidity is improving.

The idea is to promote discussion in a lively and interactive way

Have a mixture of True questions, False questions and Depends questions to hammer home knowledge and evaluation.
