Emerging Markets Are the Target for Global Tobacco Giants

Legislation and changing social attitudes towards tobacco consumption in developed economies like the UK and USA had significantly reduced market attractiveness for multinational tobacco companies.
As this short video from the Guardian explains, tobacco companies are increasingly focused on rising tobacco usage in emerging economies like China, Malaysia and across the African continent.
The external environment in Africa may seem relatively attractive to tobacco giants (compared with the UK & US). However the video suggests that stronger regulation may be on the cards there too.
