Edexcel A Level Business Knowledge Book - Strategies for Success
14th December 2018
Our Edexcel A Level Business Knowledge Book is proving hugely popular with students and teachers alike! Here are some great ideas for how the Knowledge Book can be used effectively as students prepare for the three Edexcel A Level Business exam papers.
WHAT ARE KNOWLEDGE BOOKS?
Our knowledge books are printed, write-in booklets which students complete during the course of their studies.
The idea behind a knowledge book is simple. Each booklet contains a comprehensive series of structured, step by step activities, specifically designed to equip students with the essential knowledge that they need to be successful in their Edexcel A Level Business exams.
The Knowledge Books therefore turn into the ultimate knowledge organisers - which students complete themselves!
By working systematically through the book, students will be able to identify gaps in their own knowledge, whilst building awareness of specialist terminology and familiarity with key concepts, models and theories which are crucial to exam success.

HOW SHOULD THE EDEXCEL A LEVEL BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE BOOK BE USED?
Here are a number of ways in which teachers and students can get the best out of the Knowledge Book.
1. Homework
The Knowledge Book is split into sections, mapping the exact requirements of the Edexcel A Level Business specification. After key content has been taught, teachers could set certain pages for homework to ensure that students are equipped with the essential knowledge required to be successful in Edexcel A Level Business. This can then be reviewed in class.
2. Bellwork/ Starter Activity
As students enter the class room, the students could complete one or two pages of the Knowledge Book depending on what they have covered in the previous lesson(s).
The benefit of this approach? At the end of the course students have a fully completed Knowledge Book. Perfect for revision!
Talking of revision...
3. Revision
The Knowledge Book is also perfect for revision and could be completed as part of revision lessons or at home in the weeks leading up to the exam
4. Lesson Activities
The Knowledge Book could also be used as part of a general lesson, for example, after a teacher has taught a particular topic, students could complete the relevant part of the knowledge book as a consolidation activity. This also ensures that they have a full set of 'class notes'.
5. Flipped Learning
The Knowledge Book also facilitates flipped learning. Teachers could ask students to complete sections of the knowledge book prior to lessons therefore ensuring students are familiar with the essential knowledge, allowing teachers to focus on developing application, analysis and evaluation.
The Knowledge Book also perfectly complements our popular Edexcel A Level Business Calculation Practice Book.
