Do The Dragons Get It Right?

You don’t need me to tell you that Dragon’s Den is a great teaching resource for the new specifications. It covers risk, potential rewards, potential failure,aspects of finance, marketing and any number of other topics. Have you ever wondered where you can find out more about some of the products that have been featured?

Details of some of these products can be found on the “I Saw It On The Box” website.

Although not all the products are listed this could be a useful source of information for case studies, or even a great teaching resource if you have got clips from past series of Dragon’s Den.

Some Year 10 students are unlikely to have seen some of the earlier episodes of the program, so this website could be used to get students to assess which products they would invest in, along with an explanation of why. This could be followed up by showing the relevant clip from Dragon’s Den to see if they agreed with the Dragons viewpoint.

Alternatively, why not show students that the Dragons don’t always get it right, by using this BBC video clip:
