Developing Exam Skills: Analysis: The Snoozatron

This is a ‘cracking’ little video that I used with my students to talk about analysis.

The video, which can be found here is from Wallace and Grommit and I showed it at the recent BUSS4 CPD research brief days.

In the video, Wallace is struggling to get to sleep so he starts his Snoozatron contraption, with the help of Grommit, to help him fall asleep.

This is how I used it with my students. After showing the video, I got them to write down the different stages (links) that the Snoozatron went through in order to get Wallace to fall asleep. This really highlighted to the students what analysis is all about. Analysis is about a chain of argument. In the video, there are a number of links in the chain that help Wallace fall asleep.

This video would make a perfect starter to any revision lesson…..
