A New Qualification in Enterprise: “Being Entrepreneurial”

4th September 2013

Over the summer we've worked closely with OCR to support the design and development of a newly accredited qualification in enterprise and entrepreneurship - “Being Entrepreneurial”.
The initial units in this qualification are now complete and are to be supported by a comprehensive collection of teaching & learning resources designed by tutor2u to help colleagues deliver the learning content.

Being Entrepreneurial is designed to be delivered at either Level 2 and/or Level 3 (the teaching content is largely the same although the assessment criteria obviously vary to reflect the qualification level).

The aim has been to develop a relevant, engaging qualification which first introduces learners to the key concepts of entrepreneurial activity and then builds entrepreneurial skills through a series of more specialist units. For example, the award starts with a look at the essence of what it is to be entrepreneurial and the process of identifying and evaluating ideas and opportunities. Learners can also take a unit which develops their ability to design, refine and deliver an effective pitch!

Being Entrepreneurial will be a distinctive qualification in many ways, not the least because it will encourage learners to complete the learning outcomes and assessment objectives through engaging learning activities. The last thing learners really want is yet another Word template to fill in!

We’re pretty excited about being invited to get involved in Being Entrepreneurial and we’d be delighted if schools and colleges might be interested in learning more about the qualification.

If you would like more information about Being Entrepreneurial, please complete the brief form below and we will contact you with more information about the qualification and our support resources.
