Clue about Facebook’s culture

Many business teaching colleagues will be familar with the clip showing viewers around Google's Zurich Office. Now the BBC have shown us what we could expect if we worked at Facebook and there are some sources of discussion about cultre to be had here.

This clip which lasts just under 4 minutes shows some of the spaces and environments that exist at Facebook's offices and reasons why they came about.

It could generate a great discussion about:

* what the culture is at Facebook?

* what influences the culture at Facebook and why?

* whether or not the posters and paper based messages make a difference to the culture?

* whether the culture helps the business to be more successful?

I think the biggest single takeaway for me was the way in which the office is an extension of the house in which Mark Zuckerburg and his colleagues originally set up Facebook - a great example of how the history of a firm can effect it's culture.
