Capacity Management and HR | The Train Feeling the Strain
6th September 2022
Shortages of key workers are forcing some train operators to cut their capacity by reducing the number timetabled trains on key routes.
According to the Guardian, TransPennineExpress (TPE) is the latest train operator to be hit by shortages in labour such as drivers and train guards.
Their response? To cut the number of trains operated on an "emergency timetable".
TPE management claim the labour shortage is caused by a combination of sickness and industrial relations issues.
