BUSS2 in an hour!

Jim Riley

19th May 2011

Here’s a lesson I recently tried with my Y12 students about to take AQA GCE Business BUSS2. ...

They asked for a review of the unit in one lesson. I divided the group into 2. As each slide is revealed (a slide is a round) the first 3 or 4 hands to go up were allowed to make a comment about its contents (define a word, say when a business would use it etc.). Each valid point scored a point.

Initial reluctance was replaced with wild enthusiasm and soon everyone wanted to contribute. This can be varied to include all. For some rounds I excluded the main contributors, or anyone who had recently had a go. This can be done until all reluctant contributors have had one go. The result is that everyone gets a go, and nobody can ‘hide’. The key is to keep the pace fast and reward even small contributions with a point.

The slides cover the course specification for BUSS2 with AQA.
