Brexit and the UK Aviation Industry

Might Brexit ground the UK aviation industry? The issue is not really about complex supply-chains or open-skies agreements. It is about safety.
The aviation industry is highly regulated, particularly in terms of health & safety. The problem for the UK is that the vast majority of this regulation (and the safety regime that comes with it that is recognised by the rest of the world) is European.
So it’s not surprising that the aviation industry is increasingly nervous about the impact of Brexit on the day-to-day operation of flying. Will Britain agree a deal to remain part of the European Aviation Safety system? What happens if this is considered politically unacceptable by the UK government?
