Blake Mouton in the Office

This is an excellent activity that can be used when teaching Blake Mouton (AQA A Level Year 1).

Tell students that they are going to watch a short video where they will see inside the office of a busy branch of Wernham Hogg Paper Company.

In the video, the manager of the branch, David is challenged by Neil, the UK General Manager of the Company who, after speaking to some of David’s team finds out that one of them hasn’t been paid that month.

Before showing the video, students should give themselves two headings in their books/ folders, one for David and one for Neil.

Whilst watching the video students need to write down the different management styles that David and Neil demonstrate as outlined by Blake Mouton.

After the video they should then write down which they believe is David and Neil's predominant managerial style.
