ASDA have become the first supermarket in the UK to launch 3D printing. The ASDA store in York began trialling the process yesterday and if successful it will be rolled out nationwide.
Prices start at £40 and anything can be scanned, even cars to product extremely detailed digital models which are then sent to a 3D printing factory that creates lifelike figures made out of ceramic.
ASDA believe that 3D 'mini-me' figures of friends and family will add a whole new dimension to customers mantelpieces.
A video of the process is Business Studies gold and can be found here.
