Advertising spend for four global brands

An interesting chart from the excellent Business Insider delves into company accounts data to see how much some global brands are spending on advertising…

The chart is shown below:

As a stimulus piece, the chart could be used as a simple starter activity, where students are asked to identify three features of the data presented. A follow-up activity could ask students to consider why some businesses spend a greater proportion of their revenues on advertising than others.
