A Razor Sharp Way To Add Value

Realistic data to illustrate how firms add value is not always easy to come across. After all many firms don’t want us to know how much mark-up they place on their products.
This data from the Daily Mail perhaps explains why manufacturers are so keen for us not to find out!
This graphic could be very useful in the classroom for those value added calculations though, and might even stir up a good discussion!
This data shows that the total value added on each razor head sold is £2.36 (or £2.045 excluding VAT) on a product that costs just 7p to make!
Perhaps it’s not surprising that razor blades have become the most shoplifted product on the high street according to the article.
