We are pleased to confirm details of the session content for our 2016/17 A Level Business Strong Foundations workshops running in November & December 2016 at nine venues.

The A Level Business Strong Foundations workshops are designed to support all Year 13 A Level Business students as they complete the fourth term of their two-year linear course

Strong Foundations Workshop Session Programme

Drawing on and recapping core Year 1 and early Year 2 A Level Business teaching content for both AQA and Edexcel, the five workshop sessions will have a relentless focus on the examination techniques that A Level Business students need to develop in order to succeed in June 2017.

Session 1 – Awesome Application

• Writing contextualised answers that are rooted in the case study
• How to avoid writing ‘man on the street ‘responses
• Understand what examiners look for in terms of application

Session 2 – Analyse This!

• Developing effective lines of analysis so that answers go beyond just stating advantages and disadvantages
• Techniques to help you examine causes and consequences and write in depth
• Using business theories and models to hone and sharpen analysis

Session 3 – Quantitative Skills

• Nailing the numerical questions
• Using calculations to support analysis and evaluation
• Increase calculation confidence

Session 4 – Evaluation Excellence

• Writing strong conclusions, judgements and recommendations
• How to ensure your evaluation answers the question and builds on prior analysis
• Strategies to help develop evaluation

Session 5 – Putting it All Together

• Understanding the question
• Planning your answer to ensure focused responses
• Winning techniques and exam hints and tips to maximise success
• Hitting the top levels in extended answers
