To begin with, you will need to know something about the layout of the examination. You will be entered for either;
In the examination there are two sections; A and B. In Section A, you must answer the question set. In Section B, you have a choice of seven questions from which you must answer four. You therefore have five questions to answer. Section A is worth 20 marks, and each question in Section B is worth 15 marks. 4 marks are also available for the quality of your written communication; which includes spelling, punctuation and grammar. The paper is therefore worth 84 marks. How is the AQA syllabus structured?
During your revision, it is always a good idea to attempt previous examination questions. You can find previous questions at http://www.aqa.org.uk/qual/gcse/soc_assess.html, and then follow the instructions provided. You can also access mark schemes from the AQA website. |
