The pyramid is a useful technique for students to use during a revision lesson. It can be use as a starter within the lesson, a plenary, or even as a main activity to get students noting down the key points of a topic. The activity works brilliantly with a textbook or some other source material. Students need to read the source material and identify the big idea for the topic, a couple of key points and some supporting detail. It is also an excellent visual stimulus for the students.

This activity is designed to build evaluation skills, presenting students with a number of decisions to make on behalf of an entrepreneur and then justifying their choice. The activity works best in pairs or small groups. Students are given the case study and are asked to read as far as the first decision. Three options are made available and the students rank them (showing their judgement skills). Follow-up activities then build on the analysis and evaluation, with groups comparing and contrasting the choices made by others.
